About the Racing
Welcome to the home of Hatcliffe Racing, a site dedicated to our exploits racing 1/10th scale, radio controlled buggies. Within the pages of the site, you will find info regarding the cars, the drivers (who are all members of the Hatcliffe family), our race results and special mentions to those who make our racing possible.

I hope you enjoy the site........
Our "home" club is Bury Metro Radio Car Club, where we race on a superb purpose built circuit. The circuit features grass, astro turf and block paved sections, along with jumps, banked corners and many elevation changes to really challenge both driver and car.

The cars are 1/10th scale, electric powered buggies. They are capable of speeds approaching 40mph, although the nature of the tracks rarely allows such a speed to be reached. All 3 members of the team race in the 2 wheel drive class, 4 wheel drive cars race in a separate class.

Our governing body is the British Radio Car Association, who create the rules and organise the National and Regional championships.

In a usual race day, each driver has 4 heats, with each heat being 5 minutes plus 1 lap in duration. Although each heat is a race against other drivers, it is mainly an attempt to improve your time, in order to qualify for the finals. After the heats have been completed, the computer calculates the 8 or 10 drivers with the best times and they qualify for the A final - a one off showdown to determine the day's overall winner! The next group of drivers form the B final, then the C final and so on - everyone gets to race in a final and generally the top 3 in each receive a trophy.
